How do I set up a dues payment plan?

How many installments should a payment plan have?

Three to four installments across a semester is the most common and works well – frequent enough to keep amounts small, infrequent enough that members don't lose track. Monthly plans across a 4-month semester are a popular default.

Do payment plans increase on-time payment?

Yes. Smaller, scheduled amounts are far easier for members (and parents) to budget for than a single large bill, and automated reminders on each installment reduce the chasing treasurers have to do. Chapters that offer payment flexibility consistently see fewer overdue accounts.

How is the final installment calculated?

Installments are split as evenly as possible. When the total doesn't divide cleanly, the small remainder is added to the final installment so the payments always add up exactly to the total – no missing or extra cents.
