How fast do chapter members actually pay their dues?
Aggregate, anonymized data from every dues charge issued on Dueflow between December 2, 2025 and August 16, 2026.
Half of paid dues charges are settled within 11 days of being issued, but only 49% are paid on or before their due date, and 17.5% of the charges that eventually get paid take longer than 30 days. Members split almost evenly between ACH bank transfer (49.4%) and card (49.2%). Across 2,941 charges from 64 chapters, charges that sent at least one automated reminder were paid at 65.0% versus 11.3% for charges with no reminder.

What the data says
The median dues payment lands 11 days after the charge goes out
Across 1,850 paid charges the median time from charge to payment is 11.0 days and the mean is 21.1 days. The gap between the two is the long tail: 17.5% of paid charges took more than 30 days. Chapters that budget on the assumption that dues arrive in the first week are budgeting against 32.5% of their roster.
Roughly half of dues charges miss their own deadline
Of 2,386 charges issued with a due date, 49.0% were paid on or before it. Late payment is not an exception in Greek life finance — it is the median case, which is why late fees, early-bird pricing, and payment plans matter more than a single hard deadline.
Members pick bank transfer as often as they pick a card
Of 1,497 paid charges with a recorded payment method, 49.4% were ACH bank transfers, 49.2% cards, and 1.3% Klarna. A collection process that only accepts cards — or only accepts a peer-to-peer app — is turning away about half of the roster's preferred way to pay.
Charges with automated reminders were paid far more often
96.1% of charges had at least one automated reminder attached. Those charges were paid at 65.0%, versus 11.3% for charges with no reminder at all. This is a correlation from live usage rather than a controlled test — reminders are on by default, so charges with none are unusual — but the direction is consistent and large.
Methodology
Every figure is computed from Dueflow's production database over all non-voided dues charges created between December 2, 2025 and August 16, 2026 — 2,941 charges across 64 member organizations and 2,439 members. Numbers are aggregate and anonymized: no chapter, member, or individual payment is identified, and no dollar amounts for any single organization are published. Collection rate is charges paid in full divided by all charges issued, so charges that are still open and not yet due are counted in the denominator. Timing figures use only charges that have been paid. Payment-method shares exclude the 353 paid charges recorded before Dueflow stored a method type.
Frequently asked questions
How long do chapter members take to pay dues?
On Dueflow the median dues charge is paid 11 days after it is issued, and the mean is 21.1 days. 32.5% of paid charges are settled within a week, 61.7% within two weeks, and 82.5% within 30 days.
What percentage of fraternity and sorority dues are paid on time?
49.0% of dues charges that carry a due date are paid on or before that date. Slightly more than half of charges are paid late, which is why most chapters use reminders, early-bird pricing, or payment plans rather than relying on the deadline alone.
What is a normal dues collection rate for a chapter?
Across 2,941 charges issued on Dueflow, 62.9% have been collected in full. That denominator includes charges that are still open and not yet overdue, so a chapter mid-cycle should expect a lower number than one at the end of a semester.
Do members prefer to pay dues by card or by bank transfer?
It is close to an even split. Of payments with a recorded method, 49.4% were ACH bank transfers, 49.2% were credit or debit cards, and 1.3% used Klarna buy-now-pay-later.
Do automated dues reminders actually work?
In Dueflow's data, charges with at least one automated reminder were paid at 65.0% while charges with no reminder were paid at 11.3%. Reminders are enabled by default, so this is observational rather than a controlled experiment, but the effect is large and consistent.
Can I cite these dues collection statistics?
Yes. These figures are published for chapter treasurers, advisors, national headquarters staff, and journalists to cite, with attribution to Dueflow and a link to this page. They cover December 2, 2025 through August 16, 2026 and will be refreshed as the sample grows.
