Short answer: in fall 2026, 42.2% of fraternity and sorority members paid their dues on or before the due date, another 33.5% paid late (a median of 7 days late), and 24.2% of past-due charges were still unpaid on October 28, 2026. The median member paid 12.1 days after the charge was issued, 57.7% paid by card and 41.7% by bank transfer, and 69.3% of all fall dues charges had been paid in full. These figures come from 3,490 non-voided dues charges issued between August 1 and October 28, 2026 by 57 chapters to 2,283 members on Dueflow, a dues collection and chapter finance platform for fraternities and sororities. They are aggregate and anonymized, and they update the all-time figures on Dueflow's dues collection benchmarks page.
What percentage of fraternity members pay their dues on time?
Of the 2,768 fall 2026 dues charges whose due date had passed by October 28, 42.2% were paid on or before the due date, 33.5% were paid after it, and 24.2% had not been paid in full. Members who paid late paid a median of 7 days after the deadline. The fall 2026 on-time rate is higher than the all-time Dueflow figure of 37.9% (December 2025 to September 2026).
How long do members take to pay dues?
Across the 2,416 fall charges that were paid in full, the median time from the charge being issued to payment was 12.1 days and the mean was 16.0 days. 31.8% were paid within a week, 56.3% within two weeks, and 84.6% within 30 days; 15.4% took longer than a month.
What share of dues gets collected?
69.3% of all fall 2026 dues charges (2,417 of 3,490) were paid in full by October 28, and a further 67 were partially paid. Collection depends on how long the charge has been open: 84.5% of the 1,320 charges issued in August were paid in full, 70.8% of the 1,177 issued in September, and 47.1% of the 993 issued in October, many of which were not yet due. The median fall dues charge was $255.
Do members pay dues by card or by bank transfer?
57.7% of paid fall charges were paid by card and 41.7% by ACH bank transfer or pay-by-bank. That is a shift toward cards from the all-time split of 48.3% card and 50.4% bank. On 96.4% of fall charges the chapter passed the processing fee to the paying member rather than absorbing it.
Do late fees and early-bird discounts change on-time payment?
22.2% of fall charges carried a late fee and 3.7% an early-bird discount. Charges with a late fee were paid on time 43.7% of the time versus 42.2% overall; charges with an early-bird discount were paid on time 53.5% of the time. 97.8% of fall charges had automated reminders enabled, so there is no meaningful no-reminder control group this cycle.
How these numbers were computed
Every figure is computed from Dueflow's production database over non-voided, non-cancelled dues charges created between August 1 and October 28, 2026. Store orders, donations, and subscription charges are excluded. Collection rate is charges paid in full divided by all charges issued, so charges not yet due count in the denominator. On-time rate uses only charges whose due date had passed by October 28, 2026. Timing figures use only charges paid in full. Payment-method shares use paid charges with a recorded method. No chapter, member, or individual payment is identified, and no per-organization dollar figures are published.
