We just launched a credit card. A seriously good one. Dueflow Cards let my chapter — or yours — issue a virtual card to any member in seconds, push it straight to Apple Wallet, set preset spend limits, and cancel it anytime. And every purchase earns up to 1% cashback back into the treasury.
I'll be honest: I wanted this to exist for two years and it didn't. So we built it.
I was the treasurer fronting everyone's cash
When I ran my chapter's books, buying anything meant one of two bad choices. I either handed my own credit card to whoever was running an event and prayed the receipt matched, or a member paid out of pocket and waited for me to pay them back.
They always waited. The receipt lived in someone's camera roll and never surfaced. My Venmo request sat unopened for three weeks. I was chasing a $40 reimbursement in week nine for a purchase from week two, and the member thought the chapter was either broke or a mess. We weren't — I just had no way to let someone spend chapter money without spending their own first.
I felt that every single week. Socials, intramurals, brotherhood events, the Costco run before a tailgate — I spent more of my term reconciling reimbursements than actually managing the chapter's money. That's the problem I wanted gone.
What I can do now that I couldn't then
A Dueflow Card is a virtual credit card I issue right from the dashboard. I name it (“Philanthropy Fall 26,” “Formal Committee”), assign it to the member carrying it, set the limits, and it's live — no plastic to mail, no shared login, and nobody touches my personal card.
Here's what I get to control on every card:
- Spend limits — a cap per day, week, month, or a one-time amount. My committee chair gets the exact budget I approved, not the keys to the account.
- Per-transaction limits — I cap any single purchase so a $2,000 slip can't clear.
- Instant cancel or freeze — event's done, or a card gets compromised? I kill it in one tap and the number is dead.
- Apple Wallet in seconds — the member drops it on their phone and taps to pay. Nothing to lose.
- A live feed — I watch every transaction land in the dashboard as it happens, already tied to the card and the member, ready to itemize against my budget.
The kicker: up to 1% back, every single purchase
This is the part I'm proudest of. Every purchase on a Dueflow Card earns up to 1% cashback, and it goes straight into the chapter treasury — not to a member, not to us.
Run the math on my old chapter. Push $50,000 a year through cards — vendors, supplies, food, apparel — and that's $500 back in the treasury on money I was going to spend anyway. My personal card, a debit card, a shared bank balance? Those gave me exactly $0.
$500 a year is a philanthropy donation I didn't have to raise, or a line item I didn't have to charge members for. And it compounds every year the chapter uses it.
What I used to do instead — and why it was worse
My own credit card
The cashback went to me personally, which I hated. No per-person limits. Reconciliation was still manual. And I was personally on the hook for chapter spending, which is exactly backwards for a volunteer treasurer.
A shared debit card or bank account
Members fronting cash
The default, and the worst. Slow, awkward, and the number one source of “is the chapter actually going to pay me back?” Virtual cards delete that question — nobody fronts anything, ever.
How I'd turn it on
Any chapter on Dueflow can issue cards from Finance → Cards. Issuing runs on bank-grade rails, so the org does a short one-time verification, and after that I can spin up as many virtual cards as I need.
Questions I'd have asked as a treasurer
Are Dueflow Cards physical or virtual?
Virtual. Each card is issued instantly from the chapter dashboard and added to Apple Wallet to tap and pay — no plastic to mail or lose. That's also why a lost phone or a finished event is a non-issue: you freeze or cancel in one tap.
How much cashback do Dueflow Cards earn?
Up to 1% back on every purchase, paid into the chapter treasury rather than to an individual. At $50,000 of annual card spend, that's about $500 a year back to the chapter.
Can I set spending limits per member?
Yes. Every card has a spend limit (daily, weekly, monthly, or one-time) plus an optional per-transaction cap, and you assign a card to a specific member so you always know who's carrying it. Change a limit or cancel anytime.
What does it cost the chapter?
Dueflow charges chapters and nationals $0 in platform fees. Cards are part of the same platform — and with up to 1% cashback flowing back, they put money in, not out.
This one took a while
Launching a credit card is not a weekend project. It took late nights, a ton of testing, and a team that cared about getting the limits, the cancellation, the wallet provisioning, and the cashback accounting exactly right before a single real chapter touched it. Big up the team.
